Screen Recording: Monitoring Your Team's Work

Record your agents' screens while they work in eGrow for quality, coaching, and accountability β€” configure the policy (required vs optional, browser tab vs full screen, clip length, retention, targeting), watch agents live, and review, download, or delete recordings.

Screen Recording lets you record your agents' screens while they work inside eGrow β€” so you can review how orders are handled, coach your team with real examples, and keep accountability across a remote or in-office team. You control who is recorded, how, and for how long. Open it under Settings β†’ Screen Recording at https://v2.egrow.com/settings/screen-recording.

It has three parts: Settings (configure the policy), Live (watch agents in real time), and Recordings (review, download, or delete past sessions).

Note: Screen Recording is available on plans that include it. If you don't see it in Settings, check your plan at https://v2.egrow.com/settings/plan.

Step 1: Configure the policy (Settings)

Open Settings β†’ Screen Recording β†’ Settings (https://v2.egrow.com/settings/screen-recording/settings). Turn on the main Enable switch β€” the first time, eGrow shows a legal acknowledgment you must accept, confirming you're responsible for informing your team and complying with local law. Then set:

  • Mode β€” how recording is enforced:
    • Required β€” targeted agents must share their screen to use eGrow. Until they do, a full-screen prompt blocks the app.
    • Optional β€” agents see a banner and can choose to start recording (or dismiss it).
  • Surface β€” what gets captured:
    • Browser tab β€” only the eGrow tab.
    • Entire screen β€” the whole monitor (eGrow warns you before selecting this, since it captures everything on screen, not just eGrow).
  • Clip length β€” recordings are split into clips of 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes, so long sessions stay easy to store and review.
  • Retention β€” how long recordings are kept before being deleted automatically: 3, 7, 14, or 30 days.
  • Allow unsupported devices β€” when on, agents whose browser or device can't record are still allowed to work; when off, they're blocked until they use a supported setup.

Who gets recorded (Targeting)

Below the main settings, choose who the policy applies to:

  • All β€” every team member.
  • Teams β€” only members of the teams you select.
  • Members β€” only the specific people you pick.

This lets you record, say, only your confirmation team, or a single new hire during training. Click Save to apply. Changes take effect the next time a targeted agent loads eGrow.

What your agents see

Recording only ever happens with the agent's browser permission β€” eGrow can't silently capture a screen. What the agent experiences depends on the mode:

  • Required mode β€” a blocking screen asks the agent to start sharing the correct surface. If they deny permission, they see a clear "permission needed" message with a Retry button; if they share the wrong surface (a tab when the whole screen is required, or vice-versa), eGrow asks them to pick the right one. They can't use eGrow until sharing is active.
  • Optional mode β€” a small banner invites them to start recording, which they can begin or dismiss.
  • While recording β€” an on-screen indicator shows that recording is active, so it's never hidden from the agent. If they stop sharing or close the tab, recording ends; in required mode the prompt reappears so they resume before continuing.

Sessions are captured in rolling clips (per your clip-length setting). If sharing is interrupted and resumed, that session is flagged as having gaps, so you know the coverage wasn't continuous.

Step 2: Watch live (Live)

Open Screen Recording β†’ Live (https://v2.egrow.com/settings/screen-recording/live) to see everyone recording right now. Each agent appears as a tile with their name, a red LIVE badge, which surface they're sharing, and how long they've been recording. Click a tile to watch that agent's screen in real time. The view refreshes automatically, and a counter shows how many sessions are live.

Step 3: Review recordings (Recordings)

Open Screen Recording β†’ Recordings (https://v2.egrow.com/settings/screen-recording/recordings) for the history of past sessions. You can filter by member and by status, and each row shows the member, the time window, duration, file size, and status. For any recording you can:

  • Play β€” open the built-in player to watch it (playback links are private and time-limited).
  • Download β€” save the clip as a .webm video file.
  • Delete β€” remove a recording immediately (with a confirmation), separate from the automatic retention cleanup.

Recordings older than your retention setting are deleted automatically, so storage stays under control.

Privacy & good practice

  • Tell your team. The legal acknowledgment exists for a reason β€” always inform agents that recording is on and why. Requirements vary by country.
  • Prefer "Browser tab" over "Entire screen" unless you truly need the whole monitor β€” the tab surface captures only eGrow and avoids recording personal apps.
  • Target narrowly. Record the teams or people who need it (for example, during onboarding) rather than everyone by default.
  • Keep retention short. A few days is usually enough for coaching and review, and it minimizes stored data.

What's next

Pair recordings with your numbers: use Analytics & Reports to spot which agents to coach, then review a session here to see exactly what happened. Manage who's on your team and what they can access in Managing Users & Teams.
