Getting the customer's city right is critical in COD โ carriers reject or delay parcels with an address they don't recognize. eGrow's Geography settings keep your city data clean and your shipping costs correct. Open them under Settings → Geography (https://v2.egrow.com/settings/geography).
City Sources
Enable a connected shipping company as a city source and it appends its covered cities to your city list. Then, when you enter an order address, you're choosing from cities the carrier actually delivers to โ far fewer rejected parcels.
City Corrections
Customers spell cities in all sorts of ways. City Corrections map the wrong spellings to the exact name a carrier expects. For a chosen shipping company you set:
- Correct City โ the exact spelling the shipping company expects.
- Wrong variants โ the misspellings that should be corrected to it (separate them with commas or new lines).
You can also auto-flag any order whose city isn't in the corrections list yet, so someone can complete it before it ships.
Shipping Rates
Control what shipping costs you and what you charge, at three levels of specificity:
- Global default โ the Cost and Price used when nothing more specific applies.
- Per shipping company โ override the global Cost and Price for a specific carrier. Leave a field blank to inherit the global default.
- Per city โ set rates for specific cities where delivery costs differ.
eGrow always uses the most specific rate that matches โ city over carrier, carrier over global โ so your margins stay right everywhere.
Tip: Cost is what you pay the carrier; Price is what you charge the customer. Keeping both accurate lets Analytics show your true per-order profit.
